All monies collected at the event will be donated to Making Strides and all of the demonstrators have donated all the product to make this event happen.
You can pre-register at our website here: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/SOBC under Event Registration. If you cannot make the event and would like to contribute to Making Strides you can donate under Directions Only.
We will have two grand prize raffles - a Big Shot die cutting machine and the Grand Prize giveaway of a basket full of all the products that we are using to create the cards. There will also be smaller raffle prizes.
Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you on October 1st.

Is It Too Early For Christmas Cards?
No is the answer you will get from thousands of Stampin' Up! demonstrators across the U.S. and Canada. Next week on 9/1 we launch our Holiday Mini catalog so we are all ordering new holiday products and planning fall classes.
This card is my swap card from Tuesday night's Rubbahstampahs team meeting. Our swap theme was Holiday Mini catalog or Christmas. Oh boy my head is still spinning with all the great ideas I have after the meeting. I based my card on last week's Stamping411 sketch. This is definitely a sketch I can see myself using over and over.

I ended up with my ribbon up and down inside of across so I wouldn't cover up so much of my embossed snowflakes. This card is very clean and simple and one that can be reproduced often by changing out stamps and colors.
I adhered my Marina Mist embossed layer to my Bashful Blue layer did you know that these colors are Dynamic Duos? I love having my Color Coach handy when I am stamping to see what colors complement each other. The ribbon is the lovely seam binding in Cherry Cobbler. I tied the bow with Lee Conrey's bow maker and then cut off the tails and adhered with glue dots. I added two rhinestone jewels to the largest snowflakes. I am going to try to recreate this card using the new dazzling details glitter instead of the jewels to see how that comes out.
Supplies:
Stamps: Contempo Christmas
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Bashful Blue
Other: Big Shot, Northern Flurry embossing folder, Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon, Basic Rhinestones Jewel accents, glue dots, Decorative Label punch, sponge

Domestic Goddess meets Pennant Punch
Here is a picture of my swap card from my up-upline Katherine's team meeting last week. I call it Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper meets the Pennant Punch. It is a fun birthday card for a summer birthday. I made 12 of these last Monday for our swap and it was so nice to sit at my desk and stamp for hours. It helped that it rained the whole entire day.
I started by punching out my Designer Series Paper and coordinating cardstock colors using the Petite Pennants Builder Punch. Then I adhered the DSP to the cardstock and starting forming my pennant banner. I poked wholes in the corners of the pennants with my paper piercer and this is where it got interesting. I wanted to use the baker's twine to thread my banner, but the twine is it a little too thick. I discovered a great tip when I worked on my favors that you can separate the baker's twine into four pieces if you are careful as you pull it apart. It then becomes like the consistency of embroidery floss. There is NO adhesive on the banner, it is just adhered at the ends behind the whisper white cardstock layer.
The flowers are stamped from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack and I adhered a Basic Jewel Rhinestone to the centers. The wish big stamp is from the Pennant Parade stamp set. This is an extremely versatile set that you can use for pennants, ice cream cones, birthday hats, christmas trees, etc. The Happy Birthday is stamped from Curly Cute. The Whisper White cardstock layer is run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

If you can find all of these items in my Online Store.

Pinwheel Centerpieces
This is a picture of the centerpieces from our elopement celebration last weekend. I again used the Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! The paper used for the pinwheel matched the tablecloths and dessert paper plates I purchased from iParty almost exactly.
My original thought for purchasing the tiny picnic baskets was that I would put plastic utensils and napkins inside the picnic basket so it served a functional purpose. Let's just say between setting everything up that part never happened, but it was a good idea! At least I got the ruffled Calypso Coral ribbon tied around the handles.
The pinwheels are pretty easy to put together. I have made them before from a 2" x 2" piece of paper for a card. I doubled my size for this project and used a piece of paper at 4" x 4". I am a visual learner and there are some good videos out there and how to make a pinwheel. You begin my scoring your paper into a 'X' shape. Then you cut this 'X' shape all the way until you are about a 1/2" from the center. Then I found a good tip that you can put some snail adhesive on all the right corners and fold the corner towards the middle overlapping a little bit as you go around. After you have the pinwheel shape you can add a brad to hold it all together. I also added a small piece of cardstock before I added my brad. Since I had a bunch of small kids attending I just poked the brad through a plastic straw so this centerpiece would be kid friendly. I believe there are places online where you can buy a kit so the pinwheel can spin.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Domestic Goddess Wedding Favors
Here is a picture of the wedding favors I put together for our elopement celebration this past Sunday. I had a lot of fun making these. I did keep them fairly simple since I knew I had to make a bunch ... 48 to be exact. I used the Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper which is on special this month. Buy 3 packages of Designer Series Paper ... you get 1 Free! I can attest that this paper goes a long way.
The favor is the Matchbox Die from Stampin' Up! which I ran through my Big Shot machine in cardstock colors of Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party. If you fold the score lines really well with your bone folder then you should be able to put together the base with no adhesive! Then the cover was run through in the Designer Series Paper.
I stamped the thank you sentiment from Thank You Kindly and then punched out with my Decorative Label punch. Then I added a clear bitty button threaded with a small piece of baker's twine onto a punched out coordinating shape from the Itty Bitty punch pack.
Inside the matchboxes are Pralettes which are bite size Praline's from Leah's Praline's in New Orleans. This was a perfect favor since we were married in New Orleans.
I will be sharing some more projects featuring the Domestic Goddess Designer Series Paper this week.
You can visit my Stampin' Up! Online Store for more information on the paper promotion this month.
