Summer Smooches Mini Card

I was inspired by Kay Kalthoff to create these mini 3 x 3 cards. You see I needed some quick thank you's to put in some customer orders this month. I used some leftover Designer Series Paper from some other cards I recently finished up. No DSP goes to waste over here!

The color scheme comes right from the paper - Daffodil Delight & Island Indigo which is a real lovely combination. I love that Stampin' Up! does the guess work for you. If you have a pack of paper just look at the colors in that paper to start building your card. Tip: When you get the 12 x 12 paper take a post-it note and jot down the coordinating colors and stick it to the back cardboard piece in the plastic sleeve. Then you don't need to flip open your catalog every time to check the colors!

You could whip up a batch of these mini cards in no time at all. I did not stamp a sentiment so I can use these for a quick thank you, birthday, get well, thinking of you, etc.

The Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper will be gone tomorrow 4/30 and not back until 6/1 with the new catalog so if you are loving it as much as I am go scoop up a pack. Then you can work on some projects in May. All the details on the Summer Smooches Sneak Peek can be found in my Online Store.

Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you have found some creative time this weekend.

Happy Stampin',
Christine

So Long Upsy Daisy

I am not sure if I will be able to part with my Upsy Daisy stamp set come May 30th. I was really hoping it wouldn't make the retiring list. The retiring stamp set list is out & stamp sets will be available until May 30th. Which means the new catalog goes live June 1st - I can't wait for new stuff!!!

This card looks so much nicer in person. It was made as a sample for my Pick 3 card classes. These are private classes where you get a small group together and I come over and teach you to stamp 9 cards. There is no prior experience needed. The only cost is $20 at the event. It is a fun ladies night/afternoon. I love to stamp and part of being a demonstrator is sharing what I love with you!

I have to say what I love about this card is that it uses limited supplies and it is a simple wow.

The retired accessories list also came out today and items are available while supplies last. A few things to note our stamp pads are being reconfigured. Also, I am super excited to see Stampin' Up! will be coming out with a $99 starter kit. You can check out all the retiring products in my Online Store.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Stampin',
Christine

My Digital Studio Monday: Hybrid Card

I needed a quick thank you card for an unexpected gift and challenged myself to create it in My Digital Studio. I received our May Stampin' Success magazine recently and there is an article on the My Digital Studio collections that I really enjoyed and inspired me to make a MDS card.

Since I don't have the MDS collections I pulled up a FREE download that I got last year from Stampin' Up! 90% of the card is the template, but I made it my own by doing the following:

- Changed the stamp from 'hello' to ' thanks'  Tip: When you are looking for a stamp you can use the search box and type thanks and it will display all thanks stamps you have available in MDS
- Added three digital buttons to three flowers
- Added three in-color brads (non-digital)

This card would be an example of a hybrid card since I used the digital component, but added traditional papercrafting supplies. I saved the image as a .jpg file copied it into Word and resized it to 4 x 5 1/4. Then I saved two on a page and saved this file as a PDF. I then printed on my home printer on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Are you interested in trying out My Digital Studio? There is currently a FREE 30 day trial in my Online Store. Let me know if you have any questions. Also don't forget every Tuesday Stampin' Up! releases new digital downloads.

Happy Stampin',
Christine

Stampin' Up!: Retired List is out

The 2012 retired list was unveiled yesterday and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised that I am only losing 10 stamp sets. I have been investing a lot more in Big Shot items and punches lately so I am praying I don't lose that much of those. I am a tool junkie and I love my stamping tools!

The list is available on my website here under Promotions. Stamp sets will be available through May 31st only. I am SO excited for the new catalog available 6/1 to customers and my first ever Stampin' Up! convention in July. This is a great time to join as a demonstrator. You will get all the Sneak Peeks of the NEW stuff! Be able to preorder NEW stamps & accessories and even sign up for Convention. Convention registration opens tomorrow yippppppppeeee!!!

April 25th - Retiring Accessories & Decor Elements list is out - those items will be first come first serve

Happy Easter week!

Ok so I am a little late getting this project posted, but considering today is Greek Easter I guess I can say it has been an Easter week this year. We celebrated last week, but I do have several friends celebrating today. I always bring my family little treats for holidays so I had to use the NEW Petite Purse die for some cute, cute, cute Easter treats!

These are pretty small they hold 1 mini York peppermint pattie. Yummy!!! Thanks Selene for that tip! If you put Hershey nuggets or kisses you could hold several. You will be seeing lots of this Petite Purse die coming up soon. I have lots of ideas - birthday party favors, wedding favors, baby shower favors, etc. Don't you think the mini purse is just adorable?

For the colors I thought they reminded me of Easter eggs. The colors are Pool Party & Wisteria Wonder cardstock they are part of the NEW in-colors. I have to say that is one thing about Stampin' Up! they are always fresh with color updates. Speaking of fresh the new catalog is coming out 6/1 and the first retired stamp set list came out today. I will share more details on that tomorrow.

For the DSP on the front flap I CASE'd Barb Mullikin and I think it is a fantastic idea. She used the scallop oval punch and she has a FREE tutorial on her blog here.

All supplies below can be purchased in my Online Store.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thinking of You Smooches

I have been really bad and haven't played along with Stamping411 for awhile so once I saw the sketch for this week I knew I had to play along. I was actually inspired to make a card by a card I saw with 9 stamped & punched images. When I got to playing around my card was way different than the one that inspired me. Does that happen to you sometimes?

My card was designed around the bright, fun, sassy Designer Series Paper Summer Smooches. Let me just say I am in love. This card is actually a swap for next week so some of the girls will not be surprised, but that is ok. The ribbon is the Daffodil Delight Seam binding so pretty & feminine. This card does look nicer in person.

Did you also notice the tulip embossing folder and the tulips in the Designer Series Paper?

Here is the 411 sketch that this card is based on:
