Picture Perfect Birthday Card

Picture Perfect Birthday Stampin Up

Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Yesterday was hectic as I participated in a local craft fair then had dinner plans with friends. Today I have been enjoying some down time to get caught up on cleaning and errands.

It is my birthday week so I wanted to share a birthday card for someone else in my life that also has a birthday this week. When we were at OnStage in Orlando we were challenged to show cards featuring #simplestamping. For an avid crafter it is difficult to get back to the basics and take just a SIP (stamps, ink, paper). By featuring two easy techniques I think I accomplished the task today. I used stamps from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set:
Tips:
1.       Stamp sentiment in Memento ink first
2.       Stamp off with the rectangle image to get lighter shades of Lovely Lipstick to highlight the words in the sentiment. I also stamped off for the candle flames.
3.       Use a blender pen to pick up some ink from the ink pad lid then add some Lovely Lipstick color to the Designer Series Paper

Measurements:
Lovely Lipstick card base: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score in half at 4 ¼”
Basic Black cardstock: 3 ¼” x 4 ¼”
Designer Series Paper: 3” x 4”
Whisper White cardstock: 1 ½” x 2 ½”

Let me know if you have any questions about today’s post. All the products I used are below.

I’ll be back on Tuesday with another project to share.

Picture Perfect Birthday Card & Tuesday Tip Video Tutorial

Stampin Up Picture Perfect Birthday

Happy Tuesday! I am back on track with the work week. I hope your week is off to a pleasant start. We are having an end of summer scorcher here in Massachusetts so I am trying to stay cool with lots of iced cold beverages. I have some swaps to finish this week so I’ll be in my stamp room with the AC cranked. I feel so bad for my friends who had to juggle school schedules for their kids this week since so many of the schools had unexpected half days.

Two weekends ago I was at a stamping retreat weekend and one of the items in our goody bag was the awesome Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper. Well I cut into that pack of paper like it was going out of style and made about twenty birthday cards. I had the coordinating cardstock pack in the goody bag so all I needed was a birthday stamp set and embellishments. I picked the Picture Perfect Birthdaystamp set, Basic Black Shimmer ribbon, and Metallic Pearls.

If you need a recipe for a quick birthday card check out my video tutorial:

Measurements:
Card base - 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score in half at 4 ¼”
Basic Black layer – 3 ¾” x 5”
DSP – 3 ½” x 4 ¾”
Ribbon – 5” piece

Thanks for stopping by today. I’ll be back on Thursday to share another project.

Picture Perfect Birthday Card

Stampin Up Picture Perfect Birthday

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well. Yesterday we went to brunch since hubby was out of work early and then spent a few hours in the late afternoon/early evening exploring Boston. We had some crazy weather roll through so had to wait for the storms move away. There has been so much tropical weather in Massachusetts this summer. Even a tornado touched down in South Central Mass. yesterday.

I finally found some time this morning to get caught up on designing (one of my August classes) and then I wanted to play along with the CASE-ing Tuesday group. This week has really gotten away from me since hubby had some medical issues the other evening and we spent 6 hours at the ER. He is doing fine now.

My card features the Picture Perfect Birthday and Love What You Do stamp sets and Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. I picked the colors and accessories based on the DSP.

Measurements:
Crumb Cake Cardstock: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, score in half at 4 ¼”
Share What You Love DSP: 2" x 4 1/2"
Ribbon: 4” piece

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend. I’ll be back on Tuesday with another project to share.

Let me know if you have any questions.
