Butterfly Thinking of You card

This is a quick and easy thinking of you card I mailed to a friend a few weeks ago. I have been super busy working on a fundraiser for my day job at a non-profit so I haven't had a lot of extra time the past few weeks to stamp much. I am happy to report that the fundraiser was very successful and now I can catch up on my stamp time!

I really love the color scheme on this card as I fell in love with Calypso Coral when it first came out. I think the baja breeze cardstock and ink softens the card up. What do you think? I look at this card in the middle of a very cold, snowy weather and it cheers me up. I hope it cheered up the recipient when she opened the envelope!

I also noticed how my stamping is kind of crooked on this card and I left it that way. A handmade card is a special treasure and this card shows that you do not need to be absolutely perfect when you are stamping.

The butterflies are adhered with just a glue dot so you can turn the edges of the wings up just a little and pretend they are in flight. I added just a touch of bling with the rhinestones in the middle of the butterflies.

I'll be back to share another project real soon!

Happy Stampin',
Christine

Ink: Baja Breeze marker

Spring Color Challenge ~ Thinking of You Card

I saw a spring color challenge on my friend Selene's blog here and decided to play along. How fun is that! Unfortunately it is not fun news that I needed to make this card. A coworker of mine just lost her sister and I wanted to mail a nice card to her home. When is the last time YOU mailed a card to a family member or friend? If it hasn't been a while add it to your to-do list. I have another thinking of you card to go postal this week.

I like sending thinking of you cards since it can cover a vary of situations. Inside the card YOU can personalize the message to your liking.

The color combination was Regal Rose, Rose Red, So Saffron, and Always Artichoke. I have to admit these are not my favorite colors, but I am very happy with how the card turned out. What do YOU think? I also laughed out loud at the color combo since I just ordered flowers for the services from the company last week and guess what? One of the baskets I ordered was yellows, pinks and a touch of purple with greens. Very similar to Selene's combination.

I am going to challenge myself to be inspired by colors when I am out & about around town. I'm sure I can come up with some great ideas by just window shopping at some of my favorite places. Always having my cell phone with me I can even snap a quick picture so I remember what inspired me.

Happy Stampin',
Christine

Supplies:
Stamps: Nature Walk & Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Regal Rose, Rose Red, So Saffron, & Always Artichoke markers

Thinking of You Smooches

I have been really bad and haven't played along with Stamping411 for awhile so once I saw the sketch for this week I knew I had to play along. I was actually inspired to make a card by a card I saw with 9 stamped & punched images. When I got to playing around my card was way different than the one that inspired me. Does that happen to you sometimes?

My card was designed around the bright, fun, sassy Designer Series Paper Summer Smooches. Let me just say I am in love. This card is actually a swap for next week so some of the girls will not be surprised, but that is ok. The ribbon is the Daffodil Delight Seam binding so pretty & feminine. This card does look nicer in person.

Did you also notice the tulip embossing folder and the tulips in the Designer Series Paper?

Here is the 411 sketch that this card is based on:
