12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 11

Here is a paper cone that can be used as an ornament for the tree or a small treat holder. The idea for this came from Kimberly Van Diepen. She had made up several for Halloween.

The cone itself is just a 6x6 piece of Designer Series paper that you cut in half to make two triangles. Then you add the fun ribbon treatment across the top middle. You will need sticky strip for this and I used 5/8 satin ribbon. You fold the ribbon up and down over the sticky strip as neat or messy as you want. You can finish off the end with a glue dot or two. Then you add sticky strip down the back edge and fold the paper into the cone shape.

I kept the sentiment on the front simple and used a bunch of punches. I also added a glimmer brad through the word window punch in the back to hang my piece of linen thread.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tags til Christmas
Ink: Old Olive
Paper: Jolly Holiday DSP, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Lots of punches, Very vanilla satin 5/8 ribbon, linen thread, Old Olive glimmer brad, sticky strip, glue dots

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 10

Look at what you can do with the Stampin' Up fabric! I made these cute fabric no sew ornaments. They remind me of being a little girl and decorating the tree with lots of handmade ornaments made by family members.

This was my first try at these so don't look too closely. LOL! I found a great youtube video by angiejanca that was very easy to follow for the instructions. You will need a 3" foam ball, fabric pieces cut at 3" x 3", lots of straight pins, ribbon to finish off for the loop. They are pretty easy once you get the hang of it. One pack of Stampin' Up! fabric will make 3 ornaments plus you'll have extra fabric for some other projects.

Supplies:
- Stampin' Up! Candy Cane fabric cut into 3" squares, real red & whisper white taffeta ribbon
- 3" stryofoam ball (local dollar or craft store)
- straight pins, olfa rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilter's ruler (local craft store)

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 6

The tree is finally up so I thought I would share an ornament I am making for Christmas gifts. The idea for this came from my upline Selene Kempton's newsletter.

I was able to pickup some clear plastic ornaments at a local big box craft store. Not sure if you can tell, but the ornament is relatively flat.

I made some of these up a few years ago, but of course had to make some this year with the beautiful Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper. This is a great project to do while watching TV. I rolled the paper strips up using my paper piercer as a guide. Tossed them in the ornament and added a bow out of Old Olive Taffeta ribbon.

Supplies used:
Paper: Jolly Holiday DSP - 36 strips cut at 1/2" x 6"
Other: Old Olive taffeta ribbon, paper piercer, clear ornament from local craft store
