Flirtatious Tissues!

I broke out the sewing machine over the weekend after seeing another tissue holder on Stampin' Connection from Tisha. You can see her awesome tutorial here. I followed it exactly only changing the fabric I used. You see the Flirtatious Designer Fabric is one of the items you can get for FREE from now until March 31st during Sale-A-Bration.

The fabric comes in the three coordinating patterns shown in my tissue holder. The size is considered an extra large fat quarter. Each piece of fabric measures 27" x 18"

Now that I have started playing with this fabric I love it! So much fun and very girly and flirty. If you like making items for little girls it would be adorable for hair pins and headbands.

I am so proud of myself LOL for mastering another sewing project. I tend to be a little afraid of the machine and it usually takes me awhile to get everything threaded if I need to change my color of thread, but I think I am getting better. Practice, practice, practice is key. So you will be seeing some more easy sewing projects from me.

So what are you waiting for? Head over to my Online Store place a $50 order and you could get this beautiful fabric for FREE and make your own mini tissue holder.

Happy Stampin' or Sewin',
Christine

New Year's Gifts

Okay I think I am still safe calling these New Year gifts since it is still January, right? I made these tissue holders for my Upline and Downline for a little something to keep in their bag/purse or to have on their desk to make them smile! I used the Sweet Stitches fabric. Did you know that we currently offer 9 different fabrics in our catalogs? From now until March 31st you can even get our Flirtatious Fabric for FREE with a $50 order.

I shared one of these back in December and got hooked on making them for stocking stuffers. I also got a lot better making them after doing a few so I was very happy with myself. As I mentioned back then I am a big beginner in the sewing department.

For my downline I also added another little something when I gave her little gift last week. Here is that little something as well:

I added a skinny 1" x 8" cellophane bag with some Brights buttons for her since the tissue holder has buttons I thought it was a cute addition. The buttons are from the Brights collection so they don't match the fabric exactly, but I figured she could use the buttons on another project. The Brights buttons are also an item you can earn for FREE during Sale-a-bration between now and March 31st with a $50 order.

Visit my Online Store to check out our fabric or buttons or both and place an order.

Happy Stampin',
Christine

12 Days of Christmas: Day 5

Here is another stocking stuffer idea for today. I got the idea for this from another Stampin' Up! demonstrator Connie Collins in this post. She includes a link to the pattern she used from this post. I followed Connie's measurements cutting my fabric at 6 x 6 and 6 x 8.

We are carrying 7 different fabrics in our Idea Book & Catalog with usually at least one additional fabric introduced in our Mini catalogs. I am on my second pack of the Candy Cane Christmas fabric since I did make some projects with it last year too.

If you are stumped looking at this picture I will let you know it is fabric holder for a mini tissue pack. So now when you throw those tissues in your purse or bag you smile when you take them out.

I am a beginner in the sewing department so I was thrilled with how these little cuties came out. I have my Mom's sewing machine which is older than me - a Singer from the early to mid 70's so it is another walk down memory lane when I pull it out and dust it off. I am hoping to make another sewing project this week so we will see how that goes.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tiny Tags
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White
Other: Candy Candy Christmas Designer Fabric, Real Red 5/8" satin ribbon, White baker's twine, Jewelry tag punch, Sewing machine, thread, Rotary cutter

12 Days of Christmas: Day 4

I am sorry I got off course with my Christmas ideas posts I will double up on them to get caught up this week. Between working some 10 and 12 hour days last week at my day job and two family Christmas celebrations this past weekend it was insane!

So this is a little stocking stuffer treat I made up for family. It is called a sour cream container and the only place I ever remember seeing sour cream containers like this was Wendy's when I was a kid. You could get a baked potato and add fixings from their salad bar. Anyway that is a trip down memory lane for today.

Inside my sour cream container are 5 Hershey kisses in my new addiction flavor - Dark Chocolate Mint Truffle. Yummy! It is all my friend Colleen's fault for introducing these to me at a craft fair a few weeks ago.

The instructions for this project came from our Stampin' Success magazine which is a monthly magazine you receive as a demonstrator with lots of ideas and inspiration. The sky is the limit on how you can decorate this little treat. I think it would be adorable as a favor for a bridal or baby shower.

I started with my cardstock cut to 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 then I embossed it which is optional then you roll it to form a cylinder (i.e. toilet paper holder) and adhere with sticky strip. Close one end with sticky strip fill about 2/3 full with treats then close the other end perpendicular to the bottom using sticky strip. If you leave your cardstock  plain you can crimp the edges with the crimper tool. Embellish as desired. I used some fabric and a tag.

Supplies:
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Garden Green, Real Red & Whisper White cardstock
Other: Big Shot, Snow Burst embossing folder, Candy Cane Designer Fabric, White baker's twine, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, Sticky strip

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 10

Look at what you can do with the Stampin' Up fabric! I made these cute fabric no sew ornaments. They remind me of being a little girl and decorating the tree with lots of handmade ornaments made by family members.

This was my first try at these so don't look too closely. LOL! I found a great youtube video by angiejanca that was very easy to follow for the instructions. You will need a 3" foam ball, fabric pieces cut at 3" x 3", lots of straight pins, ribbon to finish off for the loop. They are pretty easy once you get the hang of it. One pack of Stampin' Up! fabric will make 3 ornaments plus you'll have extra fabric for some other projects.

Supplies:
- Stampin' Up! Candy Cane fabric cut into 3" squares, real red & whisper white taffeta ribbon
- 3" stryofoam ball (local dollar or craft store)
- straight pins, olfa rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilter's ruler (local craft store)
