Stampin Up - Carried Away Designer Series Paper

Happy Tuesday! I guess the groundhog was correct after all. Winter has been lingering here in Massachusetts the past week and today we received a pi(e) day blizzard. I got to stay home and spend some time with my craft supplies. My friend Stacy works for the American Cancer Society and is in need of cards for Pacesetters for their Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. I had to play in our weekly sketch challenge from Stampers with Heart to make her some cards today.

If you want to play along with the sketch here it is:

I used the Carried Away Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration and played off the colors to make my cards with Whisper White and Watermelon Wonder, Peekaboo Peach, and Smoky Slate. I went with the clean and simple look. Here is a closer look at each card:

1 Month of Sale-A-Bration left!

Stampin Up Lift Me Up Bundle & Carried Away Designer Series Paper
Stampin' Up! Lift Me Up Bundle & Carried Away Designer Series Paper
Oh my! I realize I have taken a month off blogging and I didn't mean to be away that long. I really didn't stamp much in February except to send some birthday & valentine cards to family. Also, my dear grandmother passed away last week so I have spent a lot of time with family over the past few days for the services. I had yesterday off work so I headed to my stamp table determined to make a card for the Stampers With Heart team challenge. We have a challenge coordinator who posts a sketch each week. This was the sketch for this week if you want to play along:

No automatic alt text available.

Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st and I wanted to feature something from the Sale-A-Bration catalog in my card this week. The cute Carried Away Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Lift Me Up Bundle and the large focal image on the sketch works for a hot air balloon. If you purchase the Lift Me Up Clear-Mount Bundle shown below Item # 144712 for $45.75 your order would be $5 away from earning the Carried Away Designer Series Paper for Free during Sale-A-Bration.

If you place an online order over $25 in my store in March and use host code: 23RSXQ72 I will send you a thank you gift of 5 homemade cards. If you spend over $50 you can pick a Sale-A-Bration item for free and I will send you an embellishment of my choice as a thank you gift.

Let me know if you have any questions about today's post.

New SAB & Occasions Catalog Projects

So I have been busy this week preparing for today’s post. Stampin’ Up! home office recently announced a call for display stampers for April’s Onstage. Since I was a display stamper back in November I knew I had to try for it again. A funny thing happened back at Onstage in November. I already knew the weekend Onstage was happening in April I would be away on my annual vacation with my husband in New Orleans. It is a favorite place of ours to visit and we eloped there while vacationing in 2011. So I knew the only feasible way I could go to Onstage was if there was one in Louisiana. Imagine my surprise when the locations were announced on the big screen and I saw the words Shreveport. Oh my goodness! I thought it was karma and I asked Mike as soon as I got home about taking a side trip during our vacation. Not a pleasant conversation, but he knows how passionate I am about Stampin’ Up. So here I am submitting the projects below for consideration to be a display stamper for Shreveport Onstage in April.

I had to make six projects in total – three cards, two 3D projects, and one scrapbook page.
I used the Carried Away Designer Series Paper (available for FREE when you place a $50 order during Sale-A-Bration) and the coordinating Lift Me Up Bundle for the cards and 3D projects. I made a quick Project Life scrapbook page keeping with the theme of hot air balloons.

For the cards I used the monochromatic papers and paired it with the coordinating color cardstock. I also cut my Designer Series Paper to 3” by 4”. There is no waste if you cut your 12” by 12” Designer Series Paper that size. Here are the cards:

For my 3D projects I decided to make a gift card holder from a glassine bag and a gift box set with mini cards. For the gift card measurements of the Designer Series Paper is 2” by 11” and the banner is 1" by 3.5". I stamped the cloud word in Smoky Slate and cut it out with the cupcake top thinlit and layered it over the Watermelon words. For the gift box the DSP adhered to the box is 2.5" by 2.5" and the cards are 2.5” by 2.5” so they fit inside the box. The DSP layered on the cards is 2 3/8" by 2 3/8". Here are the 3D projects:

For my scrapbook page I printed some photos at Walgreens and created a simple Project Life page with some photos from a small hot air balloon festival we went to back in August in Connecticut. Here is my page:

I hope you enjoyed this post. I certainly had fun playing with my new supplies while creating these samples. Let me know if you have any questions about the projects.

Christine

It’s Time to Sale-A-Brate – Carried Away Designer Series Paper

Stampin Up - Carried Away Designer Series Paper & Lift Me Up Bundle
Stampin Up - Carried Away Designer Series Paper & Lift Me Up Bundle

Happy Wednesday and first day of Sale-A-Bration and Occasions catalogs. There were some technical difficulties earlier today, but the Stampin’ Up! website and my Online Store are live with lots of new products. Check them out by clicking here.
Today’s project is one I made a few days ago when I had some time to play with the Carried Away Designer Series Paper (a Sale-A-Bration product you can earn for FREE with any $50 order). The paper coordinates with the Lift Me Up Bundle in the Occasions Catalog.

I don’t know about you, but hot air balloons are very trendy right now and Stampin’ Up! is right on trend. I remember holiday shopping and noticing hot air balloons in store displays including Target.

Want to make this project? Here are the instructions:
1. Score a piece of 8.5” x 11” Smoky Slate cardstock on the 8.5” side at 4.25” and then score on the 11” side at 5.5” to get two card bases. Set one card base aside for another card.
2. Cut a piece of 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper to 3” x 4”. Tip: If you cut your paper to this size there will be no waste. Just make sure you are cutting the design the right way.
3. Stamp the two smaller clouds on Whisper White cardstock in Smoky Slate ink then cut them out with the coordinating cloud shaped thinlits
4. Stamp the hot air balloon on Whisper White cardstock in Watermelon Wonder ink then cut out with the coordinating hot air balloon thinlit
5. Cut a piece of Smoky Slate ribbon 5” and adhere across the middle of the Designer Series Paper securing the ends behind with glue dots
6. Add your hot air balloon with three Stampin’ Dimensionals
7. Adhere the Designer Series Paper to your cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue
8. Add your clouds with Multipurpose Liquid Glue
9.  Stamp the sentiment in the lower right corner of the card in Smoky Slate ink
10. Add four rhinestones to the hot air balloon

I have been busy playing with the Lift Me Up Bundle and Carried Away Designer Series Paper this past week. I have some special projects to share with you this Friday. I hope you’ll come back to check it out!

Happy Stampin’,
Christine
