12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 12

Wrap it up Stampin' Up! style! Why go out and buy expensive wrapping paper when you can use the brown paper that comes in your Stampin' Up shipment. Then of course add some pretty ribbons and a tag and you are good to go!

I scooped up some Old Olive striped grosgrain ribbon from the Clearance Rack for $1.99 last month and I am using that and the Wide Real Red grosgrain ribbon here. I also remembered that I had some fleece from another project (yet to be made - something for next year) in an off white color that goes really well with the red ribbon.

You can lay the brown paper out flat and then iron to get out most of the wrinkles.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tags til Christmas, Tag Alongs
Ink: Marina Mist, Real Red, Basic Gray, Black stazon, Old Olive, Early Espresso
Paper: Very Vanilla, Real Red, Whisper White
Other: Brown paper packaging, Real Red 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon, Old Olive 1/2" striped grosgrain ribbon, linen thread, various punches

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 11

Here is a paper cone that can be used as an ornament for the tree or a small treat holder. The idea for this came from Kimberly Van Diepen. She had made up several for Halloween.

The cone itself is just a 6x6 piece of Designer Series paper that you cut in half to make two triangles. Then you add the fun ribbon treatment across the top middle. You will need sticky strip for this and I used 5/8 satin ribbon. You fold the ribbon up and down over the sticky strip as neat or messy as you want. You can finish off the end with a glue dot or two. Then you add sticky strip down the back edge and fold the paper into the cone shape.

I kept the sentiment on the front simple and used a bunch of punches. I also added a glimmer brad through the word window punch in the back to hang my piece of linen thread.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tags til Christmas
Ink: Old Olive
Paper: Jolly Holiday DSP, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Other: Lots of punches, Very vanilla satin 5/8 ribbon, linen thread, Old Olive glimmer brad, sticky strip, glue dots

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 10

Look at what you can do with the Stampin' Up fabric! I made these cute fabric no sew ornaments. They remind me of being a little girl and decorating the tree with lots of handmade ornaments made by family members.

This was my first try at these so don't look too closely. LOL! I found a great youtube video by angiejanca that was very easy to follow for the instructions. You will need a 3" foam ball, fabric pieces cut at 3" x 3", lots of straight pins, ribbon to finish off for the loop. They are pretty easy once you get the hang of it. One pack of Stampin' Up! fabric will make 3 ornaments plus you'll have extra fabric for some other projects.

Supplies:
- Stampin' Up! Candy Cane fabric cut into 3" squares, real red & whisper white taffeta ribbon
- 3" stryofoam ball (local dollar or craft store)
- straight pins, olfa rotary cutter, cutting mat, quilter's ruler (local craft store)

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 9

A great gift idea is a set of all occasion cards. I made up 3 of these sets for my aunt Linda to give to her girlfriends for Christmas.

It went pretty quick once I decided on the colors (all from our Regals collection) and keeping it simple with just some embossing, ribbon and sentiment.

I am really happy with how they turned out and look forward to hearing how the ladies like them as well.

For the box I always follow the A2 card box tutorial at Splitcoaststampers. The box can easily hold 12 cards and envelopes. For this project I went with 2 of each design so there were 10 cards total in the box.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Elements of Style
Ink: Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy, Elegant Eggplant
Paper: Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy, Elegant Eggplant cardstocks
Other: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Square lattice embossing folder, Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, Manhattan Flower embossing folder, Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, Very Vanilla satin ribbon, Decorative label punch, Oval punch, Scallop oval punch, linen thread

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 8

It seems that I am reaching for the Two Tags die a lot lately. I saw this treat holder idea at Patty Bennett's blog a few weeks ago and used this as a swap for a team meeting. I will share that picture after Christmas since it was a Valentine theme.

The only thing I changed from Patty's was cutting the DSP at 6" since it is half of a 12x12 piece of paper. I am always looking for projects to make my paper go a long way.

I made up a bunch of these Thursday to bring to a family gathering today. They hold just one Ghirardelli chocolate which is just a little treat for anyone.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tags til Christmas
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Paper: Jolly Holiday DSP, Very Vanilla cardstock
Other: Two Tags die, Big Shot, Very Vanilla 5/8 satin ribbon, linen thread, glue dots, Square Scallop punch

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 7

I have been off work today on a vacation day and spent the entire day crafting. I got so much done and tomorrow will be more of the same! I am happy with the projects I finished up today and will be sharing those over the next few days.

This is a gift card holder that I had to CASE after I saw Connie Babbert's tutorial on Stamping411. I have a family gift card swap on Saturday so this was perfect to check that off the long to do list. You can get all the details on her awesome tutorial here.

I used Jolly Holiday DSP and kept the overall look clean and simple.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tags til Christmas, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Cherry Cobbler & Old Olive
Paper: Jolly Holiday DSP, Very Vanilla cardstock, Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Old Olive cardstock
Other: Two Tags die, Big Shot, 1 1/4 circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, scallop circle punch, word window punch, sticky strip, dimensionals, stapler

Kim's Baby Shower

Sunday was my friend Kim's baby shower. Here is the card and bag that I made up for her. The card was CASE'd from a valentine card by Jill Hilliard. Inside the bag was one of girl washcloth cupcakes that was a big hit with the crowd. I also gave her a pink diaper cake and noticed after I had everything made that the bag matched the cake. On the bag I had stamped a teddy bear from the stamp set Baby Bundle. Well, the diaper cake had a cute musical teddy bear as the topper.

Supplies:
Stamps: Baby Bundle
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper (retired)
Other: whisper white taffeta, linen thread

12 Days of Christmas Ideas # 6

The tree is finally up so I thought I would share an ornament I am making for Christmas gifts. The idea for this came from my upline Selene Kempton's newsletter.

I was able to pickup some clear plastic ornaments at a local big box craft store. Not sure if you can tell, but the ornament is relatively flat.

I made some of these up a few years ago, but of course had to make some this year with the beautiful Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper. This is a great project to do while watching TV. I rolled the paper strips up using my paper piercer as a guide. Tossed them in the ornament and added a bow out of Old Olive Taffeta ribbon.

Supplies used:
Paper: Jolly Holiday DSP - 36 strips cut at 1/2" x 6"
Other: Old Olive taffeta ribbon, paper piercer, clear ornament from local craft store
